He was born in Springfield on Nov. 29, 1956, the son of Herbert English Woods, Sr. and Nancy Martini Woods. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Mr. Woods graduated from Springfield High School in 1974, and then attended William Jewel College in Liberty, MO. He later served in the United States Air Force as a fuel specialist in the United States, Europe and the Middle East.

Mr. Woods is survived by his sister Nancy Woods Simmons of Plano, TX, and by his brother David Brett Woods of Denver, CO., and by nephews Arthur Walker Simmons IV, and Mark English Simmons, both of Phoenix, AZ. He is also survived by various cousins.

Family and friends may gather for a graveside service at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday September 25, 2008 at Oak Ridge Cemetery. Father Robert Jallus will be officiating. Boardman-Smith Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
